Rose Water Ghassoul Mask: The Hydrating Rose Clay Treatment from the Hammam

Mixed with Ghassoul, the mineral-rich lava clay from the Middle Atlas, it creates one of Morocco's oldest face masks: gentle enough for daily use, effective enough for a truly deep cleanse.
While Ghassoul draws excess sebum and impurities from the pores without compromising the skin barrier, rose water balances the skin's pH value and soothes it. Unlike a pure water mixture, this mask feels pleasant even on sensitive skin – it doesn't pull but leaves a soft, balanced skin feeling.

For one application (face and neck):
1–2 teaspoons EVARGANA Ghassoul Lava Clay
2–3 tablespoons EVARGANA Rose Water Spray (instead of tap water)
Optional: 1 teaspoon honey for extra moisture for dry skin
Optional: 2–3 drops of argan oil for mature or very dry skin
A small bowl made of glass, clay, or ceramic and a wooden spoon — no metal, as metal reacts with the minerals in the lava clay
Step-by-Step Guide
Mix: Put the Ghassoul lava clay into the bowl and generously spray it with rose water. Stir with the wooden spoon until a smooth, yogurt-like paste without lumps is formed. For dry skin, stir in honey or argan oil now.
Preparation: Cleanse your face with lukewarm water to open the pores. The mask is best applied directly after a warm shower or steam bath.
Apply: Spread the paste evenly on your face and neck with your fingertips. Avoid the eye area and mouth.
Leave on: Leave the mask on for 10 minutes. Halfway through, lightly spray it again with rose water so that it doesn't completely dry out and the skin doesn't feel tight.
Rinse off: Wash off with lukewarm water and gentle, circular motions. Pat your face dry and finish with a final spray of rose water and your usual skincare routine.
Always mix the paste fresh and do not store any leftovers – Ghassoul loses its effectiveness once it has been in contact with moisture for longer than one application.
Application Tips
Frequency: 1–2 times per week for normal to oily skin, every 10–14 days for dry or sensitive skin
Dry Skin: Mix honey and a few drops of argan oil into the paste, reduce application time to 8 minutes
Sensitive Skin: Never let the mask dry completely; instead, re-spray with rose water once or twice during application
As immediate care: Apply the evening before special occasions – the skin will appear visibly fresher and more balanced afterwards
