Beldi Soap with Tebrima: The Herbal Preparation for Your Kessa Exfoliation
The black olive soap is applied as usual — but enriched with 17 Moroccan medicinal plants. The result: dead skin comes off noticeably easier during Kessa exfoliation, while circulation is visibly stimulated.
Beldi soap is the first essential step in a Moroccan hammam before any exfoliation — it is applied to the skin to soften calluses and allow the Kessa glove to glide effortlessly afterwards. Those who want an extra herbal boost can simply mix some Tebrima into the soap instead of using it pure. The actual process remains unchanged — it's not a separate mask that you apply and leave on like a facial treatment, but simply the usual Beldi soap, enriched with the traditional herbal blend of 17 medicinal plants.
The reason this combination is so effective: In the warm, steamy air of the hammam, pores open, and the Beldi soap, with its high oleic acid content, softens the outermost layer of skin — which is exactly what makes the subsequent exfoliation with the Kessa glove so much easier. Tebrima — a handmade composition of chamomile, basil, lavender, Aker Fassi, rose petals, cloves, Sidr, juniper, and Nila, ethically sourced from Moroccan women's cooperatives — takes on the cleansing, soothing, and vitalizing tasks and is absorbed at the same time the soap is on the skin.
Important to know: This is not a facial or body mask to be left on separately, but regular Beldi soap, enriched with Tebrima. Its purpose remains the same as pure Beldi soap: to soften calluses enough for dead skin cells to be effortlessly removed during Kessa exfoliation — Tebrima also provides stimulated circulation and a silky-soft skin feel.

Step-by-Step Instructions
Open pores: Turn the shower hot, or soak in a warm bath for a few minutes until your skin is pleasantly warm and soft.
Mix Beldi soap with Tebrima: Place the hammam portion of Beldi soap in the bowl, sprinkle the Tebrima powder over it, and stir in the hot water. This makes it much easier to mix the soap evenly with the herbal powder until a homogeneous, greenish-brown paste forms — just regular Beldi soap, but enriched with the 17 medicinal plants.
Apply as usual: Generously spread the enriched soap with your hands over all damp skin — arms, legs, back, stomach. Just like with pure Beldi soap, but enhanced with Tebrima.
Leave on: Leave on for 5–10 minutes, preferably in a warm, steamy bath, so that pores remain open and the herbs can take effect.
Rinse thoroughly: Rinse off the entire mixture with warm water before you begin exfoliating — this is the only way for the Kessa glove to grip optimally.
Kessa exfoliation: Now grab the Kessa glove and exfoliate the skin in long, firm strokes — always towards the heart. This is where the true purpose of the preparation becomes evident: the softened, vitalized skin can now be noticeably more easily and thoroughly freed from dead skin cells.
Final rinse & care: Rinse the body thoroughly with cooler water, pat the skin dry, and apply argan oil or a rich moisturizer — the skin is now particularly receptive.
The hot water is key to mixing — with cold water, Tebrima is difficult to mix evenly with the viscous Beldi soap and forms clumps.
Application Tips
Frequency: Once a week for normal to oily skin, every 10–14 days for dry or sensitive skin
Observe the order: Always apply Beldi soap with Tebrima before Kessa exfoliation, never after — otherwise, the softening preparation will be missing, and exfoliation will be more difficult
Mix fresh: Do not store the enriched soap — mix fresh with hot water for each application
Sensitive skin: Shorten application time to 3–5 minutes and apply less pressure during Kessa exfoliation
Face: Apply a thinner layer to face and neck and use a soft Kessa sponge instead of the coarse glove
For the full hammam experience: After Kessa exfoliation, apply a Ghassoul mask to close open pores and replenish minerals.
